We all had such a great time at a wonderful winery at the top of Spring Mountain in St. Helena, CA (Napa Valley).

There were a variety of models with many changes of clothes.  I brought some props (sunflower and bubbles) just for fun.

Then when the sun went down, we brought out the lights and had more fun.

All in all, it was a fantastic weekend.  I have skads of pictures that I haven’t even touched yet, so I may be putting up some more as we go along.

Who wouldn’t want to spend the weekend in Napa, CA?  The weather was beautiful, the scenery fantastic and I was there to take photos of the scenery and fashion models.  My kind of weekend.

The architecture of some of these wineries is just amazing.  Above is a view of Opus One.  I’m standing in the parking lot looking up to the second story of the winery.  Pretty cool, huh?

I think this was one of my first shots of the day.  You can see the remnants of the morning fog rolling back towards the Pacific.  The dirt in Northern California is red/clay and I understand that grapes love it.

And here’s one of my favorite “landscape” photos of the day.  Yup.  I couldn’t resist making sure a person got in my landscape shot.  This is my friend and good photographer, Roger Aylstock.  He looks pretty serious.

When the Schmautz Haus clan gets together, interesting things happen.

Yes, these people are my kids, except for the cute blond in the center (she’s my oldest’s girlfriend). But, she might as well be one of my kids because she’s as goofy as the rest of them.  They must get their goofiness from their father.

Because, I am just not as goofy as the rest of them.  It’s hard being me…living with all this goofiness. All this falderall.  Where might they have got these glasses, nose whistles, hypnotizing disks and fish finger puppets?

What?

Somebody just said that they came from their Easter Baskets…that their mom put together.

I will never admit it.

I had the privilege of photographing a very talented Slide Guitarist a couple of weeks ago.  He is publishing a music video this spring and needed some publicity photos.

We met at Old Town Sacramento and spent an hour or so getting some shots.

His music is upbeat and fun. I was very impressed with his musical ability.  I’m sure he and his new CD will do well. For more information, go here.
